Steps of Faith Studio

• Maximum of 2 missed lessons per semester. If more than 2 lessons are missed, the student may not be eligible to participate in the recital.
• Refunds will be issued when lessons are terminated with 14 days' notice.
• If you are more than 15 minutes late, the lesson will be considered missed. Please arrive on time.

This Christmas recital celebrates what it means to be a light to others while sharing the light of God and Jesus. Students will choose from a selection of songs to learn and perform through piano and dance.

Spring Recital: "When You Wish Upon a Star"

This recital brings together fun Disney-themed music and beautiful Christian songs. Dancers and pianists will have oppurtunities to choose songs they love while celebrating their God-given gifts, discovering who they are in God, and remembering that with faith, courage, and hard work, they can dream big and grow closer to Him.

Jubilee Dance Studio - Date & Time TBD

• Tuition: Tuition is due by the 5th of each month. Payments received on or after the 6th will be subject to a $20 late fee.
• Enrollment: Enrollment is a semester-long commitment (approximately four months)
• Recital Fee: A separate $50 recital fee is due by Febraury 15th.
• Suzuki Method: The Suzuki Method is based on the mother-tongue approach. Beginning students learn primarily by ear, much like children naturally learn language. This helps develop strong listening skills and musical awareness.
• Individualized Instruction: Additional methods may be incorporated according to each student's individual needs and goals, including chords, sight-reading, and areas of interest for adult students.
• Group Lessons: Students should be prepared to participate in one group lesson each month.
• Lesson Materials: Students should bring the appropriate Suzuki book or assigned music, a notebook, homework and any other materials requested by the instructor. A recording device may occasionally be recommended to support visual and auditory learning.
• Books & Music: Students, or the parent/guardian of a minor student, are responsible for purchasing required Suzuki books and music. Notebooks may be provided when needed.
• Lesson Schedule: Students receive one 60-minute lesson per week, with a total of 10 lessons per semester. Students may miss a maximum of two lessons per semester and remain eligible to participate in the recital. The student or parent/guardian is responsible for contacting the instructor regarding a make-up lesson.
• Before Each Lesson: Students should arrive prepared for their lesson. Please wash hands before beginning, and younger students should use the restroom beforehand. One parent or guardian is required to attend lessons with younger students and is encouraged to actively observe so they can support practice at home.
• Practice Expectations: Consistent practice is an important part of musical growth. Students are expected to practice regularly and complete their weekly practice log. Younger students will receive a sticker practice chart, and completing the chart earns a special prize.
• Communication: Text messaging is the preferred method of communication for schedule updates, absences, or other lesson-related matters.
• Suzuki Book Recitals: Upon completing a Suzuki book, the student will have the opportunity to celebrate their accomplishment with a book recital.
• Behavior Expectations: Steps of Faith Studio is committed to maintaining a safe and respectful environment. Hitting, kicking, biting, scratching, or other physically aggressive behavior is not permitted. A warning will be given following the first incident. If the behavior occurs again, lessons may be discontinued.
• Late Arrival: If you expect to be more than 5 minutes late, please contact the instructor as soon as possible. Remember, arrival more than 15 minutes late will be considered a missed lesson.
• Nail Length: For piano students, fingernails should be kept clean, neat, and short enough to allow proper hand position and technique.
• Dance Attire: Dancers should arrive in clothing that allows for safe, comfortable movement. Jeans are not permitted during dance lessons. Basic dancewear, including a leotard, tights, and appropriate dance shoes, will be available through Steps of Faith Studio for a small additional cost. Specific attire or shoe requirements will be discussed based on the class and student.
• Our Christian Foundation: Steps of Faith Studio is a Christian-based music and movement studio, and faith is intentionally incorporated into our lessons. Classes may begin with prayer and a short devotional. We also use movement to "God is So Good" at the end of classes and performances as a way of giving thanks to God for our time, talents, and opportunity to learn together.
