Studio Policies

  • Tuition is due by the 5th
of each month. There is a $20 late fee if tuition is given by the 6th
    of each month.
  • Enrollment is for a semester (four
    months long)
  • There is a separate recital fee of $50 due on February 15th.
  • Suzuki method is based on the
mother-tongue approach, and the first volume is done solely by ear. This mimics how a child learns from an infant, and helps instill a listening ear.
  • Other methods will be approached
based on the student (chords, sight reading, and other wants/needs of adult students)
  • Be prepared to participate in a group
    lesson each month.
  • Items needed for each lesson: Suzuki
book for young students, other materials needed for adults (will be discussed with each student), a notebook, and possibly a device able to record for visual/hearing needs.
  • Every student is responsible (or
parent of student) for purchasing their own Suzuki books and music. Notebooks can be provided if unable to acquire one.
  • Lesson schedule will consist of 1
hour lesson per week with a total of 12 lessons per semester. A maximum of 2 missed lessons will be allowed to participate in recital, and student is responsible for reaching out for a makeup lesson.
  • Before each lesson, each student will
wash their hands and with younger students, use the bathroom. For younger students, one parent is
required to attend each lesson with their child. Please pay attention at the lesson of your child so you can practice at home with them.
  • Practicing each day is required to
progress as a student. Each student will be provided with a practice log each week, to be filled out by the next lesson. There will be a sticker practice chart provided for each student, and when the sticker chart is filled, there
will be a special prize for each student.
  • Text is the best way to contact me,
for any updates or missed lessons.
  • When a Suzuki book is finished, we
    will plan a book recital.
  • Absolutely no hitting, kicking,
biting or scratching. There will be one warning, and then lessons will be
terminated if it occurs a second time.
  • If you are going to be more than 5
minutes late, please let me know.
  • No long nails please! Technique suffers if you have long nails so please keep them neat, clean and cut.
  • Lastly, our studio is different from
other studios. We incorporate Christian elements, such as prayer and devotional at the beginning of each class. At the end of each class, and at each performance, we will use movement to “God is So Good”, which is our way of thanking God for
    our time together.
